Sometimes insurance companies contract behavioral health service coverage out to different insurers. We are contracted only with the above insurances, and cannot accept your insurance if behavioral health services are contracted out to a different insurer. Please check the back of your card or contact your insurance company to verify behavioral health services are not contracted out.
If you do not have insurance, prefer not to use your insurance, or have out-of-network insurance, we do accept private pay. For those out-of-network, you will receive a super bill which you will submit directly to your insurance for reimbursement of services. Please contact your insurance company to determine your out-of-network mental health service coverage. Should you choose to pay for services via private pay, click below to learn about your right to a Good Faith Estimate.
In short, it depends. If using in-network insurance, your insurance may cover all or part of each session. We strongly recommend you reach out to your insurance company to ask if your plan covers mental health services. Insurance plans can have different coverages, co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurances, and your insurance company can best answer those questions for you. You can typically find this information by calling the number on the back of your insurance card.
For private pay clients, the full rate is due at time of service. Should you fall on financial hardship, please speak directly to your therapist to discuss payment options.
We utilize HIPPA-compliant video platforms for our therapy sessions. This means that your session is secure. We do recommend ensuring you have a private space away from others, and use headphones if you are worried about audio privacy or background noise.
Maybe you aren't quite feeling like yourself, or perhaps your friends and family have noticed that your personality or behaviors have changed. Perhaps you're experiencing some life changes and are having trouble adjusting. You don't have to be at "rock bottom" to start therapy. Anytime you aren't feeling like yourself, it may be a good time to reach out to see if therapy is right for you. You can contact us to schedule a free 15-minute phone consult to determine if now is a good time for you to pursue therapy.
This varies, some people notice results within a few sessions. Others may need more time to "warm up" and feel it takes longer to notice changes. If you feel that you aren't getting what you expected out of therapy, we encourage you to talk to your therapist about it. This can be a good chance to discuss changes to your treatment plan as well.
No. While we have knowledge about medications for mental health conditions, our training is in therapy, which does not include training in prescribing medications. Therapists can have degrees in social work, counseling, marriage & family therapy, and psychology, and are trained to treat mental health conditions using therapy interventions. Psychiatrists have medical degrees with specialized training in medication treatment for psychiatric conditions, and can prescribe medication. You may also want to have a conversation with your primary care provider as many prescribe psychiatric medications.
You will receive new patient forms once we have spoken to you and your initial appointment is scheduled. We know there are many therapists available, and it can be overwhelming to choose one. When you call to schedule your first appointment, please do not hesitate to ask us any questions you may have and explore any concerns or fears as you prepare for your initial appointment. Also, if we mutually decide we may not be the right fit, we can provide referrals for other therapists that may work for you.
